'Rani' Alia Bhatt meets 'Poo' Kareena Kapoor in a parallel universe, can Karan Johar cast them together?

On Instagram, Alia Bhatt shared a series of pictures with her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan. They were shooting for an undisclosed project

Here comes the picture of the day! Thanks to Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the internet exploded with cuteness this evening. The actresses who are also sisters-in-law came together for a shoot. The details are still undisclosed. Alia shared a series of pictures with Kareena from the set and sent fans into a meltdown. 

Sharing the pictures, Alia wrote on Instagram, "Can it get any better… P.S. Can someone please cast us in a film together…although we may spend most of our time on set reflecting (sic)."

Alia can be seen dressed in pink embellished co-ords and a jacket. Her hair was done in soft waves. With blushed cheeks, the actress completed her look with peach-pink lips. On the other hand, Kareena wore an ivory-coloured separates. She opted for perfectly contoured cheeks, kohl-rimmed eyes and subtle nude makeup. 

Alia and Kareena were in Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab (2016) but they didn't share the screen space even once. In several interviews, the former has called the latter an 'inspiration'. Penning a note for Kareena, Alia had once written, "Dear Kareena, Apne career ke bulandi pe tumne chuna Chameli jaisa role. Par un galliyon mein jo waqt bitaya, kissi ne na jana. Tum ho mere liye ek inspiration."

At the Filmfare Awards 2017, Alia even paid tribute to Kareena. Dressed in a black, white, and red outfit similar to what Kareena wore in the song Yeh Ishq Hai from Jab We Met, she gave a performance on stage. Alia married Kareena's cousin brother Ranbir Kapoor on April 14, 2022, and the couple has a daughter named Raha. 

Workwise, Alia's film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is successfully running in theatres. Her next film is expected to be with Vasan Bala. However, an official announcement is awaited. 

Kareena's last film was Laal Singh Chaddha. She will be seen in Netflix's The Devotion of Suspect X. The actress will be headlining Hansal Mehta's TBM. It is tentatively titled The Buckingham Murders. Kareena is co-producing the film with Ektaa R Kapoor. The release date is yet to be confirmed.
