For Sonia Rathee, her character in Tara vs Bilal is one she could instantly identify with. Though nervous about fronting a John Abraham production, she walked into the project with the assurance that she knew her character inside out. “There are some scripts and characters that you instantly know how to go about. Once I heard the narration of Tara vs Bilal, I immediately loved it. I got to know much later that John Abraham is producing the film. For a senior star like him to show faith in me is heart-warming,” she beams.

The actor caught everyone’s attention when she fronted the much-loved Broken But Beautiful 3 (2021) opposite the late Sidharth Shukla. A few web series later, she feels ready to make a splash on the big screen with the Harshvardhan Rane-led love story. A romantic movie banks heavily on its leads’ chemistry. In Rane, the actor says she found an unlikely friend. “When I first met him, he was extremely serious. But once I got to know him, I had an incredible time. He is a giving co-star. Before shooting every scene, we would sit down and discuss how we are viewing it. Building that friendship was important to shape the film.”
