Have you heard? The unlikely duo

Badshah and Mrunal Thakur

A video of actor Mrunal Thakur and rapper-songwriter Badshah from Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s Diwali party has garnered attention. It shows Thakur and Badshah holding hands as they exit the bash over the weekend. It was shared on Reddit where many people commented on the ‘unlikely duo’s’ relationship. “I didn’t expect to see them as a couple. Wow,” wrote one, while another commented on the rapper’s previous marriage that ended in 2020, stating, “Isn’t he married and a father too?” Only weeks ago, Thakur had shared a satirical video on social media hitting back at those who had commented on her speculated wedding. In the past, Thakur and Badshah had worked together on the latter’s song, Bad boy x bad girl.

Another lifetime?

Kajol marked three decades since the release of Baazigar on Sunday. Released on November 12, 1993, it went on to become Shah Rukh Khan’s breakthrough project—his first as an anti-hero. It was also one of Kajol’s earliest successes and Shilpa Shetty’s debut. Kajol shared a series of stills of the film and wrote, “This set was a whole lot of firsts—the first time I worked with Saroj [Khan] ji, the first time I met @iamsrk. I was  all of 17 when I started the film. Abbas bhai and Mustan bhai treated me with all the indulgence of a favourite child,” the actor wrote online.

Diwali release, indeed?

Salman Khan has reacted to a video that has been doing the rounds on social media that shows firecrackers being burned inside a theatre where his recently released film was being screened. “I’m hearing about fireworks inside theatres during Tiger 3. This is dangerous. Let’s enjoy the film without putting ourselves and others at risk. Stay safe,” he tweeted for the video that shows some watchers seemingly screaming in fear as the crackers light up. The video, reportedly shot at a Malegaon theatre, was also shared by Ram Gopal Varma. “And we think we’re not mad,” he wrote.

Insta official for Aadar

Following his separation from Tara Sutaria, Aadar Jain has made his relationship with Alekha Advani official online. Taking to social media, he called Advani, the founder of a wellness company, the “light of my life”. Jain sparked relationship rumours when he was accompanied by a “mystery woman” to an intimate Diwali party hosted by his cousin Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Reacting to the post, Neetu Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni wrote, “I can’t wait to meet your “light””.

Back with a challenge

Paresh Rawal is “thrilled” to return to two of his popular franchises—Hera Pheri and Welcome—and will soon start filming for the third instalments of both the film series. The actor, 68, says making a new part for a fan-favourite franchise is a challenging task, something Rajkumar Hirani aced with the Munna Bhai series. “We will start shooting for Welcome 3 in December and we will release it next year. Hera Pheri 3 will also happen soon. In a franchise film, if the story is not good, then it dies down quickly. It happened with Hungama 2,” he said.

Taking a dig at PeeCee?

A recent interview of Deepika Padukone that featured in an Indian magazine has netizens wondering if she was throwing shade at Priyanka Chopra Jonas. When asked if she planned to move out of India to explore new opportunities, she responded stating, “Why do I need to move with bag and baggage to have a global impact? Early on in my modelling career, I had an offer to move overseas, and all of the fashion gurus in India said, ‘You shouldn’t be here, you should be in Paris, New York, or Milan,’ and I was like, no, those places are not my home. India is home.”

Interaction worth witnessing

Filmmaker David Michod has vivid memories of his last trip to India, but what truly left an impression on him was witnessing the enchanting synergy between Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his Hollywood counterpart, Brad Pitt. Michod had come to the country with Pitt to promote their film War Machine, in May 2017. As part of the promotional campaign, Pitt and Khan came together for an in-conversation session, during which they discussed their respective careers and the many memorable movies that they fronted. “I love coming here [to India]. It’s so exhilarating. It was not only amazing to meet Shah Rukh Khan, like when I was here last time, but it was amazing to watch him and Brad Pitt in a room together. They hadn’t met each other before. I just got to sit there and watch two megastars from different universes enter each other’s orbit. I felt lucky to be there.”

Helped injured camera person

Rani Mukerji reportedly offered help to a camera-person who was injured while trying to pap her in the city amid the ongoing Diwali celebrations. A paparazzo took to his Instagram handle to share the news of a photographer getting injured while on the job. Mukerji ensured the photographer was driven to a medical centre in her car. The paparazzo also revealed that Shah Rukh Khan too had offered his car so that an injured photographer could be driven to a hospital when he was hurt on the job, a couple of years ago.
