Deepika said on Koffee With Karan 8 that marriage is work. She further added that she and Ranveer have arguments but they choose to power through it together. "Of course, it’s (marriage) work. I think any marriage is work, whether you’re a part of this industry or outside it. Marriage is work, and it’s work every day. At the end of the day, he’s had a different life, a different upbringing, and I’ve had a different life and upbringing, and it’s about two very different people coming together. It’s not to say that we don’t have our fights, we don’t have our arguments, we don’t have our bad days. We do. But the fact that we choose to power through it together, the fact that we choose to argue with each other, the fact that we communicate, and choose to learn from that, and grow from that, and then move on, is what makes marriage beautiful," Deepika shared.
The actress then said, "If anyone is under the impression that in marriages you wake up every morning and the sun is shining, and someone says, ‘Hey baby, your coffee is ready’, that’s not what marriage is. Sure, you might have certain days that are like that, but marriage is work. And the work is what makes it beautiful."
On the opening episode of Koffee With Karan 8, Deepika and Ranveer unveiled their wedding video. The video commenced with mushy footage of Deepika getting emotional at her mehendi and Ranveer wiped off her tears and licked it. The wedding video features unseen footage from the ceremonies. At their official ring ceremony, Ranveer's father revealed the actor's dream was to marry Deepika one day and how it just came true. The actress' father, Badminton champion Prakash Padukone said Ranveer is exactly the opposite of the Padukones and why it was a much-needed change.
In the video, Ranveer can be seen waiting desperately to catch a glimpse of Deepika before the wedding but she refused. With chants of Ik Onkar playing in the background, the wedding footage was divine, pure and beautiful. In a portion, the actress said she felt complete after marrying him.
