Wamiqa Gabbi is dividing her days between Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya and Netflix’s Baahubali: Before The Beginning. But before she reports to the bustling sets, she dedicates her early mornings to horse-riding lessons. The actor, we’re told, is picking up the skill as part of her prep for a 10-episode historical drama for a leading OTT platform.

Gabbi, who has her daily session at Mahalaxmi Race Course, has picked up the basics, including balancing herself during trotting, cantering and galloping. “Horses are such creatures of beauty! There is an immediate sense of freedom as soon as one sits on horseback,” squeals the actor, evidently enjoying the sport. Happy to add it to her skill set, Gabbi views it as the perfect means to maintain agility.
“Actors lead such fast-paced lives, so unwinding is important. Horse riding is my much-needed relaxant. That aside, it is a great way to maintain an active lifestyle. It burns calories and tones my muscles.’’ She is said to have also picked up sword fighting for the series that is expected to go on floors in January.
