Looking at a new date?
If the industry grapevine is to be believed, Aamir Khan is harbouring second thoughts about the release of Laal Singh Chaddha. The film, slated to hit screens on Valentine’s Day 2022, is being postponed to April. There’s chatter that the VFX is taking time, and it looks unlikely things will wrap up by February. Mr Perfectionist did not expect that the post-production would take so long. Considering the superstar demands nothing but the best, he does not mind delaying the film. Advait Chandan’s directorial venture, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, was initially slated for Christmas 2021.
Let’s face it
Vijay Deverakonda is shooting for Liger: Saala Crossbreed in the US alongside boxing champ Mike Tyson. “This man is love. Every moment, I am making memories. This one will forever be special. When I came face-to-face with Iron Tyson,” posted the Telugu star. In September, director Puri Jagannadh announced that the film features the legend in a cameo. Karan Johar’s production also stars Ananya Panday.
Health issues
Close on the heels of rumoured beau Raqesh Bapat’s sudden exit from Bigg Boss 15 due to a medical emergency, Shamita Shetty has also stepped out of the reality show due to health issues. Mother Sunanda informed that Shamita is undergoing tests. “She will be back. Please send your love and blessings as I believe it is powerful,” tweeted Sunanda. Bapat had entered the Salman Khan-hosted show as a wild card contestant earlier this month.
Uproar over racist remarks
Dance Deewane 3 host Raghav Juyal’s alleged racist comments against Gunjan Sinha, a participant from Assam, has sparked outrage. In a viral clip of the reality show, Juyal introduces the contestant from Guwahati while speaking gibberish, and using words like ‘momo’ and ‘chow mein’. When judges Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Remo D’Souza ask Juyal what he means, he replies, “People may not understand Gunjan’s Chinese, but they surely understand her dance.” On Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called it a “shameful” incident. Juyal claims he has been misunderstood, and people need to watch the episode to understand the reference.

On Tuesday, Ananya Panday returned to Instagram after a month. Ever since the Narcotics Control Bureau questioned her in the Aryan Khan case, she preferred to lie low. She posted a video in which she is sitting in a car, parked at a picturesque location. “You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain,” she posted. It appears that Chunky and Bhavana Pandey’s daughter was alluding to the turmoil in her life last month. Fans cheered her by saying that every “dark cloud has a silver lining”.

Kavita Krishnamurti and L Subramaniam’s granddaughter, Mahati Subramaniam, 10, is making her music video debut with How we feel. The track is about the struggles of “tween life”. “She has worked hard to hone her skills and come up with an inspiring song. She strives to be perfect at what she does, and in this video, she has performed exceptionally well. It looks just splendid,” said the proud grandparents.
