Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama releases in theatres on February 25. She was inspired by the lyrics from Kapoor’s song, Yoon shabnami, in his debut film, Saawariya (2007), helmed by Bhansali. Bhatt wrote, “Dekho chand aaya, chand nazar aaya” and added, “Gangu bhi aa rahi hain”. Fans were quick to react and ask when she will tie the knot with RK. Bhatt had left fans going ‘aww’ when she referred to Kapoor as her boyfriend in her New Year getaway posts.
Music connects
If not the movies, it’s music videos for Isabelle Kaif. Katrina Kaif’s sister features with Pakistani singer Bilal Saeed and British-Asian singer Ezu in their latest track, Judaiya. They refer to her as “talented”.
In 2020, she was seen with Deep Money in his song, Mashallah. Isabelle’s B-Town debut, Time to Dance dropped digitally last year after lying in the cans for years. Her films, Suswagatam Khushaamadeed alongside Pulkit Samrat, and Kwatha opposite Aayush Sharma, have yet to see the light of day.
Dream fulfilled
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has a new address in Mumbai. His long-in-the-planning dream abode is complete. The actor’s bungalow in one of Yari Road’s bylanes has been named Nawab in memory of late father, Nawabuddin Siddiqui.
Work on the project had been on for almost four years, with the pandemic bringing things to a halt. The actor, who turned interior designer, often visited the site to oversee the construction. Among Siddiqui’s neighbours is Arshad Warsi, who also owns a bungalow.
Celebrations continue
Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar’s wedding festivities continue. After tying the knot as per traditional Malayali rituals, they took their vows again according to Bengali customs at their destination wedding in Goa. Several B-Town stars, including Anushka Sharma, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Brahmastra co-star Alia Bhatt sent congratulatory messages to Roy and the Dubai-based entrepreneur.
Apology note
Amid uproar over her remarks about “Bhagwan” and her “bra size”, Shweta Tiwari apologised for “unintentionally hurting people”. The actor added that what she said at an event in Bhopal for her web series, Showstopper, was taken out of context. “People use character names of actors, and I used it as an example.” While referring to co-star Sourabh Raaj Jain, who plays a lingerie salesperson, she quipped, “Mere bra ka size Bhagwan le rahe hai.” Jain earlier played Lord Krishna in the Mahabharata.
The picture that Rao deleted
Social media savvy Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa flood their accounts with mushy and quirky pictures of themselves. After Rao’s recent post featuring his wife against a mirror sparked negative reactions, he preferred to delete it rather than face more backlash. A section of netizens were taken aback by Patralekhaa’s pose. The comments read, “What a dirty brain I have”, “Okay, that’s confusing” and “It took me two minutes to understand the picture”. Blame it on the odd angle in which Patralekhaa was clicked by hubby dearest.
