More charcha, less Koffee
Kajol and Twinkle Khanna are about to give Karan Johar a serious run for his money as they take up the mantle of hosts in their upcoming Prime Video show, Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. After witnessing it all on the many seasons of Koffee with Karan, No Filter Neha, and What Women Want with Kareena Kapoor Khan (to name just a few), one can’t help but wonder: what fresh chaos will Kajol and Twinkle bring to the table? Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India, says, “It’s a first-of-its-kind talk show, hosted by two of the sharpest voices in Indian entertainment, who are set to reinvent the genre. They will bring their signature blend of wit, feistiness, and unparalleled insights to sparkling conversations that are humorous, unfiltered, and unapologetic.” But considering how celebrities these days are practically petrified of saying the “wrong” thing — and then facing an inevitable storm of backlash — one can’t help but wonder: will their guests be as unfiltered as the hosts? Sources claim Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar are among the first few guests. And if they aren’t forthcoming, well… let’s be honest — Kajol and Twinkle aren’t exactly the sort to let them off the hook, are they? In fact, Akshay has already responded to the announcement on Instagram Story, saying, “Already scared just seeing you two together on the poster, can’t imagine the chaos on the actual show.”
Biopics on my mind
Ujjwal Nikam and Rajkummar Rao
In April this year, mid-day reported that Rajkummar Rao was in talks with producer Dinesh Vijan to play renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam in his biopic, after superstar Aamir Khan exited the project (Order in the Rao-om, April 20). According to the latest report, the actor will begin filming for the biopic in October. The film is being directed by Avinash Arun, who last helmed the 2023 poignant romantic drama, Three of Us. The movie is currently in the pre-production stage, and Rajkummar will reportedly undergo workshops to prepare for the role. Ujjwal is known for handling several high-profile cases, including the 1993 Bombay blasts and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. This is not the only biopic that Rajkummar has said yes to. The actor will begin shooting for former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly’s biopic early next year (Being a left-handed batter is a different ball game, July 15). The film will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

Shooting on a set can be hectic, but outdoor shoots in real locations? Now that can get downright scary. Actor Mazel Vyas recently shared her experience of filming in Thailand while working on Hunter 2. Luckily for her, she had Suniel ‘Anna’ Shetty by her side — who quite literally became her real-life action hero. “We were shooting in Thailand, and once, a huge crowd surrounded us. Suniel sir protected me with both arms and guided me to safety. He’s such a gentleman,” she recalled. Mazel admitted she was completely star-struck sharing screen space with not just Suniel but also Jackie Shroff. “Suniel sir brings calmness, intensity, and depth. Watching them and observing their process was a huge learning experience. One thing I’ve taken away from both of them is the importance of staying grounded and constantly working on your craft,” she gushed.

Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi
There’s a new romance brewing in Bollywood, albeit on screen. Reports suggest that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has roped in actors Wamiqa Gabbi and Bhuvan Bam for a romantic comedy, titled Kuku Ki Kundali. The film will reportedly be directed by Sharan Sharma, who last helmed Mr and Mrs Mahi (2024). It also marks the big-screen debut of content creator-turned-actor Bhuvan. As for Wamiqa, this will be her third romantic comedy, following the Rajkummar Rao-starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf, and Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2, which is set to go on floors soon. Kuku Ki Kundali is expected to kick off later this year.
