Yesteryear actor Minoo Mumtaz passed away in Canada on Friday. She was 79. Sister of comedian Mehmood, she featured in CID (1956), Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959) and Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960). Mumtaz relocated to Toronto a couple of years ago, where her children are based.
Sara’s wishes face the heat
Sara Ali Khan faced backlash after she sent “warmest birthday wishes” to Amit Shah. On Friday, the Union Home Minister turned 57. A section of social media users pointed out the “timing” of her tweet. They said that she greeted him as Bollywood is under the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). One user wrote, “Requesting NCB to note it down and avoid any further action.” Another posted, “Sara Ali Khan marks herself safe.” She was also criticised for praising the Centre’s initiatives. Last year, Khan was called for questioning by the NCB in the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
