Varun Dhawan is devastated by the untimely demise of his aide and driver Manoj Sahu. The actor was apparently shooting at a Bandra studio when Sahu complained of chest pain. He was immediately rushed to the Lilavati Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. Yesterday, the actor remembered ‘Manoj dada’, who was with the family for 26 years. “He was my everything. I have no words to express my grief, but all I want is that people remember him for his amazing wit and humour and passion he had for life,” he wrote. Varun and director-brother Rohit Dhawan attended the last rites yesterday.

Fardeen Khan is the latest in the industry to test positive for COVID-19. Yesterday, he shared the news, adding that he is asymptomatic. “Sending my best to all those in recovery. The rest, keep getting tested if in doubt as this variant is also targeting children, and they can be given limited medication (sic),” he wrote. While the next fortnight will be all about “happy isolating”, Khan will resume the shoot of his comeback vehicle Visfot post recovery.

On Wednesday, the filmmaker shared another precious throwback picture, this one from the 2012 Durga Puja festivities in Lucknow. A radiant Sridevi can be seen indulging in sindoor khela, while husband Boney’s name is written in vermilion on her back. The late superstar’s countless fans immediately showered their love on the picture.

Fellow actor Swara Bhasker, meanwhile, has recovered from the virus. Where did she go as soon as she felt fit? To the recording studio. Bhasker started dubbing for Jahaan Chaar Yaar, the all-women drama that sees her alongside Meher Vij, Shikha Talsania and Pooja Chopra. “Sooooo happy to be fit enough to be #backtowork... Loving the feeling of being back into the process of making movies,” wrote the actor on Instagram.

As the city continues to record a high number of cases, popular television actor Shaheer Sheikh informed that his father is on the ventilator, following a severe COVID-19 infection. “My dad is on a ventilator, suffering from a severe COVID infection… Please keep him in your prayers,” wrote the Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi actor alongside a picture of his father. Several of the actor’s colleagues, including Hina Khan, Karanvir Sharma and Vatsal Sheth, wished his father a speedy recovery.
