Salman and John

The release date of the John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 has been changed again. On Friday, the makers said that instead of November 26, the film hits screens a day earlier. Milap Zaveri’s action thriller, also starring Divya Khosla Kumar, is a sequel to the 2018 film. Salman Khan’s Antim: The Final Truth releases on November 26. Johnny boy will be taking over the shows, especially in single-screen theatres, by being out on November 25. Now, Khan and Abraham have a history, which makes this box-office battle a keen watch.

Goodbye time

Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli

As the comic caper, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, inches closer to the finish line, it’s time to get nostalgic for Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli. They are shooting for a song in the final schedule. On Friday, director Raj Mehta shared, “What a special experience the making of this film has been. It could have only happened with special artistes like these.” The shooting of Karan Johar’s production was halted in December after Dhawan and Neetu tested positive.

Travelling with Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan

One of Amitabh Bachchan’s diehard fans has painted his car with dialogues from his films, and its music system plays Big B’s dialogues on loop. The admirer, who turned up at Film City where Big B was shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati, made him sign on the dashboard. “This is simply amazing,” posted the veteran superstar. He added that the fan has a shirt with his film names written on it. This man has to be Big B’s most jabra fan.

In the hills

Parineeti Chopra

It was a working birthday for Parineeti Chopra, who turned 33 on Friday. She is shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai in Manang, Nepal, alongside Anupam Kher and Boman Irani. Pari considers the “best and biggest present” to be working in the middle of the mountains on your birthday. She began her day by meditating. Mimi didi (cousin Priyanka Chopra Jonas) posted a birthday note for her dear Tisha (Parineeti’s pet name). “Sending so much love,” PeeCee wrote.

Kamal gets fashionable

Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan makes his foray into the online fashion world with his label, House of Khaddar. The collection is designed by Amritha Ram, who styles the veteran actor-filmmaker. “We have chosen khadi which made a world political statement for India. It is associated with our history, and we take pride in it. From a pure comfort point of view, it is an all-weather textile. We endeavour to make it relatable to the young and uplift the weavers and artisans who create this beautiful art,” says Haasan, who will be launching the collection in Chicago next month.

Back on scene

Anita Raaj

Anita Raaj had gone missing from Choti Sarrdaarni after the show took a generation leap. In a twist in the tale, the makers are bringing back her character Kulwant Kaur, the bold and outspoken village sarpanch. “Playing Kulwant has given me a new fan base. I am looking forward to reuniting with the
cast and crew,” says the veteran actor.

Love rules

Chandran’s airport ordeal, CISF apologises

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) issued an apology to actor-dancer Sudhaa Chandran after she complained that it is traumatic when asked to remove her prosthetic foot every time by the airport personnel. In a bid to make people aware of the dignity the differently-abled deserve, she said, “This is an appeal to the central and the state governments. I have danced with a prosthetic foot and created history, and made my country proud. But every time I go on my professional trips, I am stopped at the airport, and when I request CISF officials to do an explosive trace detector test, the officials want me to remove my artificial limb and show it to them.” On Friday, the CISF responded on Twitter. “We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. As per protocol, it is removed only under exceptional circumstances. We will examine why the lady personnel concerned requested Sudhaa Chandran to do so. We assure that all our personnel will be sensitised again so that passengers do not face inconvenience,” the post read.
