On Friday, Rahul Vaidya and Disha Parmar tied the knot at a suburban hotel. The heavy downpour did not prove to be a dampener. The bridal couple wore Abu-Sandeep creations. The singer opted for an off-white resham and gold zardozi sherwani, while the actor chose a red lehenga from the dancing peacock range of the designer duo. Vaidya’s Bigg Boss 14 co-contestant Aly Goni and musician Toshi Sabri attended the ceremony.

Vatsal Sheth is the latest addition to the Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Adipurush. Though details about his role in Om Raut’s mythological have not been revealed, his casting has led to chatter that buddy Ajay Devgn put in a word for him with the Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) director. Ajay Devgn, who had been growing his facial fuzz, has got a new salt-and-pepper look. On Friday, as soon as buddy celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared a glimpse of the “trendy cool cut” on Instagram, the star’s colleagues, including Anil Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, were bowled over. “Deadly Devgn sports a dapper look. Did this new haircut and beard for the one and only Ajay,” wrote Hakim. The buzz is that the makeover is for Devgn’s digital debut, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness.
Akshay’s acting classes
Akshay Kumar, who clocked 30 years in the industry earlier this year, is now keen to provide a helping hand to aspiring actors. The Khiladi will conduct acting classes to showcase how he became Bollywood’s most successful name. “We never had opportunities to formally learn the ropes. Times have changed. You can now attend my masterclass and draw lessons from my journey — of some success, and loads of pitfalls,” said Kumar, who will conduct the classes on socialswag.com, the start-up he launched with Rana Daggubati last year.

While desi stars have given the Cannes Film Festival a skip this year, Singh Is Bliing (2015) and 2.0 (2018) actor Amy Jackson provided a touch of Bollywood on the red carpet. The actor, who is based in London after her engagement to hotelier George Panayiotou and the birth of son Andreas in 2019, posted, “It takes a bloody village,” to explain how many people were involved to get her carpet-ready.

On Friday, Indian Matchmaking clocked a year since it dropped digitally to amuse, shock and entertain as matchmaker Sima Taparia helped clients find the right partner. The makers of the show had an added reason to cheer. The Netflix series has been nominated at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards in the Unstructured Reality Programme category. “We couldn’t have asked for a better gift to celebrate one year of the show,” said Taparia.

Sasural Genda Phool and Devon Ka Dev Mahadev actor Tapeshwari Sharma is also a DJ. As she is missing her weekend gigs due to the lockdown restrictions, she is hosting a virtual bash tonight on her Instagram handle. “I thought a DJ night will be a good idea to let your hair down and have some fun while being safe at your home,” says Sharma, who hopes to make it a regular affair till places open up.

Kenisha Bhardwaj features in the upcoming show, Ghar Ek Mandir— Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki. The actor, who was earlier seen on Queens Hai Hum, says, “My character of Nisha Agarwal has various shades to it. She does not favour a joint family set- up and is independent in her thoughts. She is from a small town, but with big dreams and aspirations.” Bhardwaj will be seen alongside Vishal Nayak.
