Have you heard? Face-off time for Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan

After 20 years since Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan are sharing screen space together in Vikram Vedha. The actors are currently shooting for a five-day spell of their film, which is a Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil hit of the same name. Sources tell us that Saif and Hrithik are filming their confrontation scenes under the direction of Pushkar-Gayathri, who also helmed the original neo-noir action thriller. Saif reprises the role of R Madhavan’s super cop, Vikram, while Duggu steps into Vijay Sethupathi’s role of the gangster, Vedha. Off-screen, of course the two actors get along quite well. Hrithik introduced Saif’s look from the film on social media yesterday, saying, “Working with one of the finest actors and a colleague I have admired for years. It is going to be an experience I’m going to cherish. Can’t wait! (sic)”

New season, new look for Remo D’Souza

 Remo D’Souza

Remo D’Souza, who returns as a super judge on DID Li’l Masters after 11 years, is donning a new look for the upcoming season. In doing so, the filmmaker-choreographer has ticked off another item off his bucket list. “The idea was to be creative and put up a style not seen before on Indian television. It was one of the wishes on my bucket list and I ticked it off. This hairstyle is generally known as cornrows with silver rings since my outfit has a pinch of white to it,” he says. Remo likes to experiment with his look every season, believing that they add to his popularity and fan following.

So insensitive, Adah

Late Bappi Lahiri and Adah Sharma

Adah Sharma shared a picture of herself sporting gold jewellery, along with a picture of Bappi Lahiri, and captioned it, “Who wore it better?” That was enough to unleash a barrage of comments from social media users, who called out her insensitivity for such a post, barely 10 days since the iconic composer-singer’s demise. Seriously Adah, what were you thinking?

SC gives go-ahead to Gangubai

 Gangubai Kathiawadi

Not that the court cases against Gangubai Kathiawadi perturbed Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the film’s team, but the Supreme Court’s ruling on Thursday means there are no more legal wrangles for them. The apex court ruled in favour of the movie’s freedom of expression and dismissed a plea seeking a stay on its release. The Justice Indira Bannerjee-led bench refused to accept the allegations of Gangubai’s adopted son Babu Raoji Shah that the Alia Bhatt-starrer defamed his mother. Senior advocate Aryama Sundaram, who appeared for SLB in the SC, stated that the film is based on a 2011 book and glorified her, contrary to Babu Shah’s claims. In response to SC’s suggestion of changing the title, the senior advocate told the court that the Central Bureau of Film Certification had already cleared and certified the movie, and its title had had been published and promoted for several months now.

Another big action flick for Tiger

Tiger Shroff

It seems like ‘action’ is all Tiger Shroff needs to hear to get his attention towards a film. The actor, who is completing work on Heropanti 2 and the two-part actioner Ganapath, apparently has a few months to spare before he starts Bade Miyah Chote Miyah with Akshay Kumar. Sources say he’s in advanced talks for a big action thriller helmed by Kesari director Anurag Singh and backed by an international streaming giant. Reportedly, Tiger’s team is yet to work out the modalities before he signs on the dotted line.

Talking shop

Nikita Dutta and Jubin Nautiyal

Jubin Nautiyal was spotted with Nikita Dutta at a Juhu restobar on Thursday. The singer and the Dybbuk actor spent quite some time chatting. And when it was time to leave, Jubin bid her bye with a hug. Oh come on now! Every meeting between two celebs doesn’t always indicate there’s something cooking. For all you know, they could have been discussing about her featuring in his new video. No?

Sajid backing Kapil’s next

Kapil Sharma and Sajid Nadiadwala

During the recent shoot of a special episode for Kapil Sharma’s show, to celebrate the success of his production house, filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala revealed plans of making a film with him. “I’d like to announce that we are in the process of developing a script for Kapil as well and will share the news in the next two months,” said Sajid. He also reminded Kapil that he is the “producer of the star who is the producer of this show, aka Salman Khan.”

Vijay, Kiara to pair up?

Vijay Deverakonda and Kiara Advani

Vijay Deverakonda  caught Karan Johar’s attention when he shot to national fame with the Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy (2017). The filmmaker not only acquired the rights to his 2019 film, Dear Comrade soon, but also decided to launch the actor in Bollywood with Liger. While the Puri Jagannadh film, also starring AP, is being readied for August 25 release, we hear another KJo favourite — Kiara Advani — has been approached to star opposite Vijay. Apparently, the Good Newwz actor has liked the subject and things will be finalised soon.
