Ananya Panday is set to headline a yet-untitled cyber-thriller that will be directed by filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane. “When Vikramaditya Motwane approached me with this story, I just knew I had to be part of it. As a filmmaker, he has been on my wish list for as long as I can remember, and I feel really lucky to be working with him so early in my career,” Panday said. Producer Nikhil Dwivedi said, “When Vikram shared the script with me, it was one of the most interesting materials I had laid my hands on in recent times and I decided within a few hours to participate in this. Ananya is a commendable artiste, and someone to watch out for in times to come. I am excited that she is in the film.”
Ghai, Shroff again!
Subhash Ghai took to his Instagram handle to share a birthday post for ‘dearest’ friend Jackie Shroff. The filmmaker also announced a new film with the actor. “Once a hero, always a hero, born as a new superhero in our film, Hero, and Yaadein. In 2023, [he will be seen] as a heart-warming superhero on the big screen.” Shroff had made his Bollywood debut with Ghai’s Hero, in 1983. The director-actor duo also worked together in films like Ram Lakhan, and Khal Nayak. On the work front, Shroff will be seen in an action movie, which also stars Sanjay Dutt.

The head of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra, known for being rather reticent, and choosing to stay away from the media, has recorded his first on-camera interview for The Romantics, a Netflix global docu-series. The last time he gave an interview was for a print magazine in 1995. The four-part docu-series celebrates legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, and the production house’s impact on Indian pop-culture. It stars 35 personalities, including the stars who have closely worked with the studio.

Hrithik Roshan took to Instagram to share a bunch of pictures with K-pop star Jackson Wang. Wang was hosted by the Roshans in Mumbai, ahead of the singer’s visit for the Lollapalooza global music festival. While Roshan called him ‘kind hearted’, and his meeting with Wang a ‘delightful’ one, the singer, on the other hand, said he ‘hoped to come back more often’.

On Monday, the Jonas Brothers, including Priyanka Chopra’s singer-husband, Nick, and Kevin and Joe Jonas, were honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They were joined by their family members, who attended the special event. Anubhav kicks off next
Director Anubhav Sinha commenced work on his next, Bheed, a film that he says reflects the “complexities” of the current day and age. Set against the backdrop of the lockdown, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Kapur, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, and Ashutosh Rana, and is scheduled to release on March 24. “It is a story that sheds light on the social disparity that the country faced in the toughest of times,” the director said.

Genelia Deshmukh, whose recently released Marathi film Ved, directed by her husband Riteish Deshmukh, has been gaining appreciable responses, revealed that she used to get annoyed by Riteish’s habit of making Tik Tok videos.
