As rumours about the wedding of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif continue to swirl, Kaushal was spotted visiting his ladylove’s home on Waterfield Road, Bandra. Kat’s mother Suzanne Turquotte was papped at a designer store. Reason enough for fans to believe that the countdown has begun. On Wednesday, Kaushal’s Love Per Square Foot (2018) co-star Gajraj Rao did a funny take on the buzz that mobiles will be barred at the venue. “If I am not allowed to take a selfie, I will not attend the wedding,” posted Rao. What’s a wedding without a million flashbulbs popping, he wondered.
What an idea!
Salman Khan’s upcoming docu-series, Beyond the Star, which takes a look at his life, career and controversies, was rumoured girlfriend Iulia Vantur’s brainwave. The Romanian actor-singer conceptualised it, and Sallu felt it was a fantastic idea. The show presents an honest and fun account about Khan, narrated by family and staff members, friends, protégés, co-stars and filmmakers. Helmed by Viraf Sarkari, it also includes those who helped him become the superstar. Despite his busy schedule, Khan has already shot for his portions in the project, which rolled in October. On December 27, Sallu clocks 56 years and over 33 years in the industry. The Dabangg star could not have asked for a better birthday gift for himself and his legion of fans.
Boney on the gram
Boney Kapoor, who is active on Twitter, has now joined Instagram. He made his debut on the photo-sharing app by posting several pictures in which the producer is seen posing like a pro. It made son Arjun comment, “So this happened. Dad is finally on Instagram to keep track of his kids and to show the world his rather fashionable side.” Daughter Janhvi, who is active on the gram, wrote, “Hi, papa.” Boney is shooting in New Delhi for Luv Ranjan’s film. Guess the actor in him prompted Boney to be on Instagram.
Badhaai ho badhaai
Mukkabaaz (2017) actor Vineet Kumar Singh tied the knot with Marathi actor-blogger Ruchiraa Gormaray in a low-key ceremony on Monday. Singh shared the news on social media and wrote, “Holding your hand I came so far. Feeling truly blessed to have you in my life. Thank-you all for your love and blessings.” The couple, who has been together for eight years, preferred to keep their relationship under wraps.

A taste of reality
Badshah has created a music video, Sajna, for the upcoming reality show, Say Yes to the Dress India. The rapper will be seen in different avatars, including a priest, chef and event manager, in the wedding track. “Sajna captures the thoughts that run through a bride’s mind. For the first time, I was not just being myself but playing some quirky characters, which made the experience one- of-a-kind for me,” he says. Payal Dev has rendered the song along with Badshah, and the choreography is by Punit J Pathak. The discovery+ show is a desi version of the American TV series, Say Yes to the Dress.
Sadh positive
Amit Sadh is the latest from B-Town to test positive for COVID-19. The actor revealed in an Instagram post that he contracted the virus despite taking the necessary precautions. He is quarantining at home. “I am sure I will come back stronger and better out of this. Please stay safe and take care of yourself and others,” the Shakuntala Devi (2020) and Super 30 (2019) actor added.
20 years later, the sequel rolls
On Wednesday, Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol began shooting for the long-in-the-planning Gadar 2. The two reprise their iconic characters, Tara Singh and Sakeena, from the superhit 2001 film. A section of netizens felt Patel and Deol appeared to have not aged at all two decades later and wondered if it was a scene from the first part. Anil Sharma’s directorial venture went on floors in Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. A schedule in Dharamshala follows. Sharma’s son Utkarsh is also part of the cast.
Real to reel
Ranveer Singh shared an emotional note after the trailer of 83 was widely appreciated. The actor considers it an “honour” to play Kapil Dev and be a part of the cinematic telling of the story of the players who won the cricket World Cup in 1983. “This is not just a movie, it’s a glorious tribute to that moment in Indian history that changed it all. It’s about the achievements of Kapil’s Devils,” the actor posted.

The arrival of December spells Christmas for Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actor, who has begun preparations for the party season, including celebrating son Taimur’s fifth birthday on December 20, shared a click of the unseasonal Mumbai rains on Wednesday. “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas... not really,” she posted while wondering why it was pouring.
Dia’s birthday for a cause
To mark her 40th birthday on December 9, Dia Mirza is extending a helping hand to the kin of van rakshaks who died due to COVID-19. The actor-environmentalist will be donating R1 lakh every day for 40 days to help support the bereaved families. “There could be no better birthday gift than do something special for our forest rangers,” she said. Mirza also requested all those who may want to send her flowers or gifts on her big day to donate to the Wildlife Trust of India to help the van rakshaks who preserve the country’s natural heritage.
