Community Ganpati pandals are all installed in various cities. Ahead of the festivity this year, Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao has revealed that he makes his Ganpati murthi at home using eco-friendly methods.

In a recent interview with Shehnaaz Gill, Rajkummar Rao opened up about his eco-friendly Ganpati. "I make Ganpati murthi with my own hands every year with wheat. I have a lot of fun making it. I make the eyes with kidney beans and use dal for accessorising the murthi and colour it with haldi. It looks very beautiful," he said.
"When you immerse the wheat-based Ganpati in water, it becomes food for fishes so nothing goes to waste and no damage to environment," he added explaining the benefit of eco-friendly Ganpati celebration.
Rajkummar Rao's influential stature as an actor helps in sending across a strong message of honouring traditions while being mindful of being kind to nature.
Back in 2020, Rajkummar Rao had shared pictures of his Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at home. He had also shared a picture of his cute Ganpati murthi. "Happy Ganesh Chaturthi everyone. Home made Ganpati with wheat flour and turmeric. It’s such an amazing feeling to make our own Ganpati at home this year.
Sending prayers and peace. #EcoFriendlyGanpati. Ganpati Bappa Morya," he captioned the post.

On the work front, Rajkummar Rao was recently seen in the web series 'Guns & Gulaabs' marking his debut in the digital series space. Directed by Raj and DK, the series also starred Dulquer Salmaan and Adarsh Gourav and is set in the 90s in a fictional town. Rao plays a mechanic who comes to be known as Paana Tipu after he murders two people using a spanner in a fit of rage. Earlier this year, the actor was also seen in the film 'Bheed' directed by Anubhav Sinha and co-starring Bhumi Pednekar. The film, however, failed to attract audience to the theatre. The actor will next be seen in Mr and Mrs Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor and Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor.
