A few years after the release of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer, Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013), filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi approached Aamir Khan with a script. The actor instantly gave his nod, and the director got cracking on the script. Cut to seven years later, Santoshi, who recently wrapped up Bad Boys starring Mithun Chakraborty’s son Namashi and Amrin Qureshi, caught up with the star on his birthday (March 14) for a family dinner. This meeting gave rise to the speculation that the duo is planning to work together after 18 years. Their last film together was Andaz Apna Apna (2004).

“We have been in touch over the years. When Aamir invited me over for a family dinner, we discussed the movie. We will [soon] have a formal narration and take a call thereafter. Seven years ago, I only had a concept [in mind], which I narrated to Aamir, who loved it. Now, I have completed the script,” says Santoshi, who will sit down for a story narration soon. Though tight-lipped about the film, he says, “It’s a complete family entertainer. But, I don’t want to reveal anything until he reads the script.”
While rumours are rife about Santoshi and Khan working on the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna, Santoshi refutes the claims and says, “[The script of Andaz Apna Apna] is at a nascent stage. [My film] with Aamir is a solo hero project.”
