Emraan Hashmi's episode of Koffee With Karan was an iconic one. His statements raised eyebrows and stirred controversies. In an interview with Zoom, Emraan was asked why he has stopped going to chat shows. He said, "It’s too much to handle." The actor added, "If I go on Koffee With Karan again, I’m gonna make a mess of things again. I think I'll be worse off in the rapid-fire round than I was before."
Emran further shared, "Because it’s an opinion, and I don’t really have anything against these people. I just wanted to win the hamper. It just becomes a competitive thing and you say these weird things."
On Koffee With Karan, Emraan was competing for the hamper with his uncle, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. During the round, Karan Johar asked him to name an actor/actress who comes to his mind when he hears the word 'plastic'. He replied, "Aishwarya Rai."
In 2014, Emraan clarified his statement and said in an interview with Hindustan Times, "I didn’t mean it. I’m a big fan of Aishwarya. It’s the format of the show. I cannot not say things and not win the hamper. I love her. I have always been a great admirer of her work. I knew people would make big deal out of it… so what, people make a big deal out of nonsense all the time."
The actor, who is known as Bollywood's 'serial kisser' for the kind of films he has done in the past, had to name the best and the worst on-screen kisses he had. Emraan responded to the question and said his worst on-screen kiss was with his Murder co-star, Mallika Sherwat. He added that Jacqueline Fernandez was a better kisser in the film, Murder 2. When Emraan was asked what he would find in Mallika's bedroom, the actor took further digs at her and said, "An Idiot's Guide to Succeed in Hollywood."
