Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been elected as a Member of Parliament from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh, is heading to Delhi. On Thursday, the actress took to her Instagram stories and shared a picture of herself sitting in her car and travelling to Delhi. She wrote on the picture, "On my way to the Parliament. Mandi ki sansad (sic)." Another picture shows the actress hugging her mother as she bid adieu.

Kangana expressed "heartfelt gratitude" over her win at the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. She took to Instagram and shared that "the victory belongs to the people of Mandi." The actress wrote, "Samast Mandiwasiyon ka is janadhar, is pyaar aur is vishwas ke liye dil se abhaar. Yeh jeet aap sabhi ki hai, yeh jeet Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi ji ki aur BJP par vishwas ki, ye jeet hai sanatan ki, yeh jeet hai Mandi ke samman ki (Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust. This victory belongs to all of you. This is the victory of trusting Prime Minister Modi and the BJP. This is the victory of Sanathan. This is the victory of Mandi."
Kangana made her acting debut at the age of 17 with Anurag Basu's 2006 film ‘Gangster’. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. However, she found her big break in 2008 with ‘Fashion’ which was a landmark film in her career. She went on to do films like ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Krrish 3’, and ‘Queen’ which brought her into the spotlight. She launched her production house Manikarnika Films and is all set to release her first solo directorial ‘Emergency’.
She is the recipient of Padma Shri, the country's fourth-highest civilian award, including four National Film Awards.
Kangana, a firebrand actor who had once famously called out Karan Johar as the "flagbearer of nepotism" and sparked a debate on insider versus outsider in Bollywood, is now looking forward to starting a new chapter in life as a BJP MP.
