Deepika Padukone has delivered many hits at the box office this past year, serving up gems like Jawan, Pathaan, and Jawan to audience members all over the world. The actress is all set to dazzle audiences once again with her latest aerial actioner, 'Fighter'. Deepika Padukone mentioned in a recent media interaction that the boundaries of feminism need to be rephrased when it comes to movies.

Deepika Padukone on redefining feminism in Bollywood:

Deepika Padukone has been part of Jawan, Pathan, and now Fighter. The next in her kitty being 'Singham Again' and Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD, all mainly male-centric movies. Even though Deepika Padukone has been part of women-centric movies, the actor gave input into her latest slew of releases, which are all male-centric movies.

When questioned about this during a recent media interaction, Deepika Padukone on redefining feminism in Bollywood, said, "Yeah sure, wait for Shakti Shetty!” She exclaimed, referring to Rohit Shetty's big-screen female cop universe movie, which will be a standalone women-centric movie.

“But to complete my thought, you never anyway never do anything alone. I don’t think women can succeed without men and men can’t succeed without women. I think we need to rephrase the definition of feminism,” she added.

Deepika Padukone was even asked if she has space in her career to do a 'Piku' now. To which the actress said, “The space is there, the writers have to write. It will happen, I think it is just a matter of time. Post COVID, everyone felt a bit rattled. It was a new experience everyone was coming out of and we made a lot of assumptions about where we are headed. We are jumping too soon in this journey of what’s working, what’s not working, that only big budgets films (are working). Actors service a script, a director. You invest in stories, you invest in characters, you invest in people, you invest in the journey.”

About 'Fighter'

The film features Hrithik Roshan as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania aka Patty, Deepika as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore aka Minni, and Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh aka Rocky fighting for the country. Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover will also be seen in the film. Apart from the adrenaline-pumping trailer, the makers have dropped a few songs from the film's album. While 'Sher Khul Gaye' quickly became the party anthem, 'Ishq Jaisa Kuch' made us drool over Hrithik and Deepika's chemistry. The recently released song from the film, 'Heer Aasmani,' made us all dance. To note, there have been reports that the CBFC has suggested 4 cuts in the film and has granted it a U/A certificate.
