'Cirkus' opened to a single-digit collection on day one in India with Rs. 6.25 crore

Ranveer Singh-starrer 'Cirkus' was released in theatres on December 23. The film directed by Rohit Shetty of 'Golmaal' fame was expected to end the year on a high note. Instead, the unanimous reviews for the film have been poor. Moreover, the film also failed to attract the audience to the theatre despite a star-studded cast.

'Cirkus' opened to a single-digit collection on day one in India with Rs. 6.25 crore. It failed to gain momentum despite it being the Christmas weekend. On day 2 the film collected Rs. 6.40 crore while it collected Rs. 8.20 crore on Sunday. The total first-weekend collection of the film stands at Rs. 20.85 crores.
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty was also credited for reviving the box office in 2021 with his film 'Sooryavanshi'. It was the first big film to hit the theatre post the pandemic-induced lockdown. The film starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead with Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in cameo roles.

'Cirkus' is pitched as a comedy-drama with Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma essaying double roles. The multi-starrer boats of an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandes, Pooja Hegde, Varun Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sulbha Arya, Vrajesh Hirjee, Anil Charanjeet, Vijay Patkar, Siddharth Jadhav, Tiku Talsania.
