mid-day had earlier reported that the bridal trousseau will be created by local designers, in what is an attempt by Chadha to promote their craft (Old-world charm for their big day, Sep 6). In keeping with the same thought, she has trusted her family jeweller to design customised pieces for her.
A source reveals, “The family jeweller has been in the business for decades, and is known to do selective work. The jewellery being designed is inspired by the royal aesthetics of Rajasthan. In addition, Richa has given some of her family’s heirloom pieces and the hand-me-downs from her grandmother to be reworked. Since they hold sentimental value, she wants to wear them for the main ceremony.”
