No actor can have a memorable career without some memorable music. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who turns 41 today, has ample of stunning songs and aching melodies in her two-decade (and still counting) career. These are strictly personal choices.

Aisa Lagta Hai- Refugee (2000)
A cross-border romance sees a Pakistani girl falling in love with an unnamed refugee who resides on the other side of the border. Their passion and romance transcend boundaries and that could also stand true for the music of this drama by Anu Malik and penned by Javed Akhtar. This is a duo that’s sorely missed in today’s era when music and melody are unfortunately fading away. It’s hard to pick one song that stands out in the album but this one is for the ages.
San Sanana- Asoka (2001)
Khan has looked her most gorgeous yet in this underrated period drama. The frames by Santosh Sivan were meticulously staged and exquisitely crafted. The scenic beauty and lusciousness of the landscapes were further fueled by the breathtaking music by Anu Malik again. This was Khan’s introduction, powered by her stunning aura and accompanied by the pulsating beats and the lively voice of Alka Yagnik. Too bad we remember this number only when we have to talk about Kriti Sanon.
You Are My Sonia- Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001)
Hrithik Roshan dances like everyone’s watching and they do. His fluid moves suggest he was born to burn the dance floor. It can be a task to match up to his seamlessness but Khan and he shared a crackling chemistry in this song. The catchy lyrics aside, what also caught the attention were the actress’ mismatched sandals. Was it a fashion faux pass or a style statement?
Yeh Ishq Haye- Jab We Met (2007)
A girl is about to embark on a journey she thinks will change her life forever. It does, but in all unexpected ways. Before shock dawns upon, she’s at her chirpiest best. She’s a motor-mouth with an infectious charm. She’s elated to meet the man she loves, she travels with a man who has fallen in love with her. It’s a also great travel song, even if you lead a loveless life. Give it a try, it’s a stress buster.
Chhaliya Chhaliya- Tashan (2008)
This hugely anticipated biggie saw the emergence of what we call Size Zero. Khan was coming after the cult of ‘Jab We Met’, Akshay Kumar had four blockbusters behind, Saif Ali Khan had the cool ‘Race’ with him and Anil Kapoor became the most lovable goon in ‘Welcome’. Things turned awry but the music by Vishal- Shekhar didn’t. This track was fantastically shot and thunderously composed, and Khan flirted with the camera only the way she could. All this deserved a better film.
Teri Meri- Bodyguard (2011)
Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan scorched the screen in this romantic number that had waterfalls, fire, wind, everything in it. It could be the three stages of their chemistry and romance, from as pure as water to as scorching as fire to as breezy as wind. And they both looked stunning throughout the running time, especially Khan in those marveling Saris.
