Director Maneesh Sharma, known for small films with rich emotions, on teaming up with Salman-Katrina for spy thriller Tiger 3
Tiger 3 is lined up for Eid 2023 release
Last week, the makers of Tiger 3 gave us a peek into the world of the espionage thriller as they released the date announcement video. Where the film — true to a Salman Khan offering — has been lined up for an Eid release, it may well have a distinct language from the previous two instalments, Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). This time around, Maneesh Sharma of Band Baaja Baaraat fame has taken the directorial baton from Ali Abbas Zafar.

Sharma admits that helming the Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer came with dual responsibility — where he had to explore a full-fledged actioner for the first time, he also had to raise the bar for the franchise that has amassed a strong fan following. “When I was handed over the reins of Tiger 3, I had a singular vision — to take the popular franchise to a level that would set a new benchmark. With the launch video, we wanted the personalities of Tiger and Zoya [Kaif’s character] to shine through,” he says. The movie has been shot in Russia, Austria, Turkey and India.
