Amrita Singh’s visit to R Balki’s office in Bandra has led to speculation if she is part of his next. Singh has been making rare appearances on the big screen. She was last seen in the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer Badla (2019).

Amrita Singh Singh made her Bollywood debut in 1983 with Betaab opposite Sunny Deol. The film was received with humongous success at the Box Office, after which Amrita starred in hits such as Sunny in 1984, Mard and Saaheb in 1985, Chameli Ki Shaadi and Naam in 1986, Khudgarz in 1987 and Waaris 1988. Singh also earned applauds in the early 90s for her villainous acts in films such as Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla's Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman in 1992, Amitabh Bachchan's Suryavanshi in 1992 and Jackie Shroff and Juhi Chawla's Aaina in 1993.

After taking a break from the acting world for almost a decade, Amrita Singh returned to the silver screen in 2002 with the film 23rd March 1931: Shaheed, in which she played the mother of Bobby Deol, who played Bhagat Singh.

In 2005, Amrita made her Television debut with Ekta Kapoor's Kavyanjali. The actress gained popularity for her negative portrayal in the show, which starred Eijaz Khan and Anita Hassanandani. In the same year, Amrita won acclaim for her performance in Kunal Kemmu's Kalyug, yet again in a negative character. She was later seen in various Bollywood films such as Shootout at Lokhandwala, Aurangzeb, 2 States, A Flying Jatt, Hindi Medium and Badla, playing pivotal roles.

Are the arclights beckoning her again?
