Amitabh Bachchan commands respect everywhere he goes, owing to his iconic stature and seniority in the film industry. However, the veteran actor often makes an attempt to lighten up the air by cracking a joke or pulling someone's leg. The Kalki 2898 AD event in Mumbai on Wednesday was no different. The 81-year-old megastar was flanked by his co-stars Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas at the event.

Bachchan maintained a serious demeanour throughout, but never missed an opportunity to make the audience laugh. When the actors were on stage talking about the film, he attempted to pull co-star Prabhas' leg.

Rana Daggubati, Prabhas' co-star from Baahubali, was the emcee for the event. He probed Prabhas about the rare opportunity of working with legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in a film. He asked, "What is it like working with... what do you do on set?" As Prabhas started to answer, Big B quipped, "We touch each other's feet. He never allows me to do that though... Prabhas, be honest now."

Rana came to a tongue-tied Prabhas' rescue, "You're ragging him sir, I can see that, pulling his leg. My friend is an introvert. He is all-powerful in the movies but he is quite an introvert in real life."

Bachchan wasn't ready to relent, "But what's wrong with touching his feet?" The audience broke into peals of laughter.

Prabhas thanked the film's makers for giving him the opportunity to be part of this great ensemble. "I should thank Dutt Garu and Nagi for giving me the opportunity to work with such great legends. It's bigger than a dream. And I don't know what to say. When I first met Amitabh Sir, I touched his feet. He said, 'Don't do it. If you do it, I'll do it.' Sir, please. I can't even think. We grew up watching you.”

Furthermore, he said, "Kamal Sir, when his Sagar Sangam came out, I asked my mother, 'I want his dress.' My cousin... used to put a cloth on his stomach. They used to act in front of us like him. And now I'm working with them. This is like, something unbelievable."

"Regarding Deepika, 'I always wanted to work with her. She is someone who can reach such an international level, and she is a great actor. It was beautiful to work with her.'"

Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD is set to release theatrically on June 27, 2024. With a star-studded cast featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, the film promises to be an unparalleled cinematic experience.
