We’ve all seen how natural Adarsh Gourav is in front of the camera. Music aficionados will tell you that he is equally at ease behind the mic. In the past few months, the actor released two singles, Kho gaye with composers Ruuh and Joh, and Bechaini with Oaff. Naturally, his singing skill hasn’t escaped the notice of filmmakers. We hear some of the directors he is currently working with have suggested that he lend his voice to the songs in his films.

So, will we see him juggle the two roles in the near future? “I enjoy acting the most. But music is something I am passionate about. In the past few months, I have had a few of my directors ask me about doing playback singing. It’s enticing, but I will do it if something speaks to me. As an actor, there is a tendency to be consumed by the material, which leaves you with little room to do anything over and above. I have a never-say-never approach and will consider it the next time an opportunity presents itself,” says Gourav, who has Supermen of Malegaon, the second season of Guns & Gulaabs, and the international project, Alien, in the pipeline.

Regardless of whether he makes the shift to playback singing or not, music will continue to be an integral part of Gourav, who is trained in Hindustani classical music. “Music has always been a deeply ingrained passion. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore this facet of my creativity.”
