Four years after his last single, classically trained singer-songwriter Adarsh Gourav on returning to the recording studio for a new single

It’s not unknown that Adarsh Gourav is a prolific actor, but few know about his connection to music. The actor, who earned a BAFTA nomination for his performance in The White Tiger, is a trained Hindustani classical singer and songwriter. After briefly being part of two bands—SteepSky and Oak Island—in his growing-up years, he now wants to take his music to a wider audience. “Music has been a constant in my life. In fact, acting is something I got introduced to along the way. I love both equally and wish to balance both by doing work that speaks to me,” says Gourav, whose progressive rock band was once featured in MTV Indies-Never Hide Sounds.

After four years, Gourav returned to the recording studio for a new single, which is set to be released later this year. “It is a soulful, vocally driven piece, something I’m naturally inclined towards. Music is a way to express my feelings and channel my creativity,” shares the actor, adding that he is “deeply inspired by the works of a few legends” that he was introduced to through an introduction to Hindustani music.
On the acting front, Gourav is gearing up for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday and Raj and DK’s Guns & Gulaabs.
