India's entry to Miss World 2009, Pooja is preparing for the big day in South Africau00a0-- press meets, photo shoots, galas, charity events and extensive tourism is what's keeping this beauty on her toes. The pageant, to be aired on Zee Cafe on December 12, promises Pooja, will have her giving her best shot to bring home the crown. Here are some excerpts from an interview with the beauty:
Building ties
I have made lots of friends here. But I've become good chums with Miss Bosnia, Miss Serbia and Miss Romania. They're absolute sweethearts and we've bonded beautifully. Miss Scotland is gung-ho about making it big in Bollywood and wants me to help her with it! There's a very positive vibe to everything that we do and I'm enjoying every bit of the ride.
Query worry
u00a0You can't really prepare yourself, as there's no way of knowing which question will come my way. But yes I anticipate three questions like:u00a0
>> What is the difference you will make to the world in the next one year if you were fortunate enough to be crowned tonight?
>> In all that you have seen of South Africa in the past couple of months, what did you love the most? What aspect of the country will you miss the most?
>> What would you like to be remembered as once you leave this world?
And while I may have given a thought to what I'll say if I am asked these questions, there's no way I'm going to let you in on my answers. Come on, you can't possibly make me sound so rehearsed when I go up there! (laughs Pooja)
High standards
Everywhere the Miss World entourage travels, people specifically ask to be introduced to Miss India, simply because of the standards set by the contestants representing India over the years. Particularly, Aishwarya Rai is remembered, even today almost 15 years after her victory, as the most successful Miss World ever. So I know have really big shoes to fill! Honestly, it's really difficult to tell who's going to walk away with the crown with 112 gorgeous women vying for it. But you can rest assured I'll give it my absolute best. Just pray for me and keep your fingers crossed!
