When Bollywood celebrities chose to forgive and forget

Squabbles, ego battles, misunderstandings and blame games are commonplace in Bollywood. Sometimes feuds turn so bad that the concerned parties refuse to cross each other's paths, forget working together. Yet, there are some who know how to mend their broken relationships and thaw cold wars. Like Nargis Fakhri and Akshay Kumar, who have decided to keep their differences aside and come together in the multi-starrer 'Housefull 3'.

Nargis had miffed Akshay when she decided to walk out of his film 'The Shaukeens' (2014) to be part of the Hollywood flick, 'Spy', which released this year. After her debut film 'Rockstar' (2011), Nargis had signed a three-film deal with Akki's production house. This was at a time when her performance was panned in 'Rockstar' and she didn't have offers in hand. Nargis was apparently the original choice for Akshay's 2012 film, 'Khiladi 786'. Later, Akshay decided against it, as he thought that her managing agency at that time was making too many demands. Asin was roped in as her replacement. However, soon after, Akki wanted to make amends and he offered 'The Shaukeens' to Nargis. But she walked out of the film as soon as she bagged the Hollywood project and the Khiladi apparently wasn't too happy about it. Eventually, Lisa Haydon came on board.

But now, Akshay seems to have moved on and they are happily working together in 'Housefull 3'. The third instalment of this Sajid-Farhad comic caper 'Housefull' (2010) also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Lisa. The unit is currently shooting in London and apparently all is well.

Music to the ears
Himesh Reshammiya's first big break in Bollywood music was courtesy Salman Khan — for 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya' (1998). 'The Odh Li Chunariya' track from the film turned out to be quite popular and Himesh went on to score the music for several of Salman's films like 'Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge' (2000), 'Yeh Hai Jalwa' (2002), 'Tere Naam' (2003) and 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?' (2005).

But later, when Salman turned his attention to other music composers, Himesh drifted away from him. The feud between the star and the musician came to the forefront when Sallu appeared in the music reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, as part of his film Partner's (2007) promotions. Himesh, who was one of the judges on the show, had to quietly bear Sallu's taunts.

Nonetheless, Himesh maintained that he will always be indebted to the star and in 2011, they collaborated for 'Bodyguard'. He also composed the music for the Salman-starrer 'Kick' (2014) and is now working on the star's Diwali release, 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'.

Buddies forever
Farah Khan made her directorial debut with buddy Shah Rukh Khan in 'Main Hoon Na' (2004) and they later teamed up for 'Om Shanti Om' (2007). But their friendship suffered a dent when she turned to Akshay Kumar for her third film 'Tees Maar Khan' (2010). Things turned uglier between King Khan and Farah in 2012 when the latter's husband, film editor Shirish Kunder, was involved in a brawl with SRK at a party hosted by Sanjay Dutt. SRK and Farah, however, did not allow the past to catch up with them when they teamed up for 'Happy New Year' (2014).

In another instance, Farah made some comments about her discovery Deepika Padukone on Karan Johar's chat show 'Koffee with Karan' in 2010. Asked by Karan to rate some popular actresses in order of talent, Farah had ranked Deepika at the bottom. At that time, it did not go down too well with Dippy. Over the years as Dippy went on to be a leading actress, Farah apparently felt she was becoming too big for her boots. There may have been cold vibes, but when the actress for 'Happy New Year' (2014) was to be finalised, Farah did not look beyond Deepika.

Always a brother
Kareena Kapoor Khan considers Karan Johar as family. After 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001), KJo was keen that Bebo feature in his home production, 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' (2003). Kareena apparently quoted a fat fee to be part of the film which took Karan by surprise. He refused to pander to Bebo's demand and signed Preity Zinta instead. Buzz was that the two then shared Arctic-cold vibes for a while. Later, the two sorted out their differences over warm cuppas and took their professional equation ahead by working in 'Kurbaan' (2009), 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' (2012) and 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' (2013).

Not too long ago, there was buzz that issues had cropped up between them again when Kareena made a statement about Karan's proposed film Shuddhi not happening and how she did not want to do projects for buddies without reading the script. But then Bebo went on to do an item number in Karan's recent production, 'Brothers'.

Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor, co-stars of 'Aisha' (2010), had their share of differences when Abhay expressed his displeasure over the film which was produced by Anil Kapoor.

Things turned worse when Kapoor Sr said on a chat show that Abhay "needs help". Deol then retorted by saying, "He's right about me doing all the wrong things. Aisha is the biggest proof of that." The actor then reportedly stated that he wouldn't do a film with Sonam again as more energies were focussed on clothes than on acting. However, they took everyone by surprise when they teamed up for 'Raanjhanaa' (2013).
