Aamir, who starred in Chopra's '3 Idiots' and 'PK', said, 'I am happy for Vinod that I am here to unveil his first English film 'Broken Horses'. My good wishes are with him... I am eagerly waiting to watch the film.' Chopra, the director of films like 'Parinda', '1942: A Love Story' and 'Mission Kashmir', said the English film was a different challenge for him and scriptwriter Abhijat Joshi.

'I have made films for the last 39 years but 'Broken Horses' is not a film for me; it's a dream. I never thought that I will be able to write, produce and direct a film in English,' Chopra told reporters. 'People like James Cameron and Alfanso Cuaron have said such nice words after watching the film. It's a dream fulfilled for me. This is just passion and madness.'

Chopra said while working on the writing of 'Broken Horses', he would keep the scripts of classics like 'China Town', 'The Godfather' and 'Sixth Sense' in front of him 'to psche' himself. The producer said he was grateful to the 'Eklavya' star as Bachchan encouraged Chopra during his days of struggle.

'When I first came to Mumbai I met him at Mohan studio with my diploma film and requested him to watch the film. He was a huge star at that point of time and he still is. 'After watching my film 'Murder At Monkey Hill', he asked me when do we work together. And my struggle ended there only. When I was just a student he encouraged me.'

The idea for 'Broken Horses' came when Chopra made 'Parinda'. 'Me and Abhijat both studied in Hindi medium schools and people started laughing at us when they came to know that we are writing and making an English film.'

Chopra said one day he would like to make a film with Aamir and Bachchan for the world audience in English. When asked about the Oscar nomination, the filmmaker said, 'Next year it will be valid. If it is good enough then it will go, if not then it won't.'
