What's it about: If the Twilight bug hasn't bitten you, you have to be living under a rock! Based on Stephanie Meyer's best selling novels, Twilight is the first of the series that started a cult following among teenagers smitten by the love story of Edward Cullen (Pattinson) and Bella Swans (Kristen Stewart). This is no ordinary romance between a boy and a girl.

Instead, it's an intense tale of mystery and intrigue. Edward is a vampire, and the human Bella falls head over hells in love with him. Their love is tumultuous as they both start off by hating each other's guts.

It is only after the revelation about Edward's origin when the plot takes an interesting turn. Set in a time when vampires and werewolves camouflage themselves among humans, Edward and Bella's love is soon challenged and threatened by forces unknown to them.

What's hot: Robert Pattinson has gained superstardom after Twilight and there are multiple reasons to his success. Even though he made his debut in a Harry Potter film a few years ago, his portrayal of the cold blooded yet lovelorn Edward Cullen has made him a rage among his female fans.

Robert underplays his charm and appeal throughout the film, making him all the more alluring and appealing. An antithesis to his good looks and charisma is Stewart who's ordinary in every sense of the word.

Trapped in her own world and trying to grope with the reality of growing up with a single parent she resents everything that's mundane.

She plays Bella with ease, as if she sat with Meyer while she drew up the character. Edward's family of vampires and Bella's friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner) provide ample distraction from the love story and add thrill and mystery to the plot.

What's not: Unlike the book, Bella and Edward's interaction and their falling in love is somewhat rushed. We see very less of Jacob and Bella hanging out together. Stewart seems awkward and uneasy with Pattinson in the initial scenes, but that uneasiness soon wears off.

What to do: It's unadulterated teen romance that has spawned the vampire culture in the west with TV shows like True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and a surging demand for Anne Rice novels. For those who haven't seen the film yet, watch it to prepare yourself for the sequel New Moon that hits theatres next month.
