A Chief Commando Trainer roped in as the action consultant for Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer 'Baaghi' put his acting skills to test. And we hear it took a lot of convincing on the part of the makers and director Sabbir Khan to get Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj to face the camera. He will be seen as Tiger’s trainer in the film.

“I did not have aspirations to see myself on screen or turn actor. I have always been and will always be a patriot. I was supposed to be just the action consultant for this film, but Sabbir needed authenticity. I was hesitant at first, but he convinced me,” says Bharadwaj, who has served as the Special Anti Urban Terrorist Tactics Instructor for Mumbai Police after the 26/11 attacks and Special Commando Trainer for Combatants of the Army’s Fighting Regiment.

Ask the inventor of Shatru Vinashak killing skills if he was afraid of facing the camera and he says, “I do not even fear death, forget the camera. I enjoyed the shooting process with Tiger and Sabbir. I must say Tiger has been a dedicated learner.”

Bharadwaj reveals he has been an action consultant for Bollywood films earlier, but did not wish to name them. Will Baaghi be his first and last tryst with acting? “I am not a fan of films or actors. I am a fan of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and other such revolutionaries. But if films dealing with commando training are offered to me and helps people know more about defence, only then will I be excited. But I am not looking it as a profession. Bollywood is a huge industry, but I have dedicated my life to my country,” he quips.
