We know that Edward has left her, seemingly for her own good. "You can't see me now", he tells her, though there are ample scenes and moments where he pops up on screen almost haze like yet sporting his 'out-of-bed' hair do.
Making way for Jacob to handle all the action and romance, Edward takes a backseat only to spring up in a suicidal climax. Be prepared to see more animals, urban legends and ancient cults brought to life on screen.u00a0

What's hot: There are ample OMG moments for the series fans who have now been divided into Team Edward and Team Jacob.
Those following Stephenie Meyer's blood-sucking version of a Mills and Boons tale will be in for a treat. As Jacob, Taylor overshadows Robert, who's the pin-up boy for most 16 year-old girls!u00a0
Not trying to play cool or intense or both Lautner sticks to his character of a teenage boy who's dealing with more than just puberty. At the crossroads of realising his true self, Jacob manages to keep you engaged.u00a0
The special effects are minimal and are used when required. They might not dazzle you but serve their purpose in the storyline.u00a0

What's not: If you've read the book, then the slackening pace and not too much happening for a long time makes sense. However, staying true to the rate at which things proceed in the book doesn't really help the film.
New Moon is almost like a buffer between Twilight and Eclipse, with the characters and storyline in a transition line. The yearning and hopelessness that engulfs Bella in the first is totally missing here. There is no chemistry in the scenes between Edward and her.

Her fear of growing close to Jacob and not knowing what the future holds is portrayed shallowly.
First-time watchers will be baffled with the history and legend of the Volturi that's presented in such a sketchy format making them look like a bunch of thugs returning from a fancy dress competition.
Making moolah while the sun shines takes the front seat leaving plot and logic in the back.
What to do: Nothing like the book, New Moon ends up being a shrewd money making enterprise that's just a tease rather than a show.
