What's it about: Lies, deceit and fraud form the basic elements of this brilliant drama about a whistleblower who sets out to expose the corrupt underbelly of his company, but ends up wrapped in a web of his own false statements.
Mark Whitacre (Damon) decides to tell on the illegal proceedings in his company to succeed against the competitors thereby compromising on product value, to the FBI. What seems like an ordinary joint operation between two agents and an accomplice soon turns into a series of attempts to make sense out of their source's information. Even though his intentions seem sincere, down the line one realises that Whitacre has more at stake than his company's public image.

What's hot: After watching Matt Damon put on his fuzzy moustache and a weave that takes away every bit of Jason Bourne from his identity, one can't help but applaud the brilliance of this actor. Easily one of the most underappreciated actors in the industry, Damon puts on a performance that will go down as one of his best in years to come. Like Jack in the box, Damon springs one surprise after another with his sarcasm and humour-laced one-liners. It's an earnest performance that warms you up right from the first frame. Soderbergh does a brilliant job of keeping you guessing as the plot veers and turns sharply.

What's not: It's no Traffic, so don't expect any serious revelations about the agricultural business in the '90s or a documentary style factual drama. There are times when the whole premise seems too self- indulgent to be enjoyed, but that's the style Soderbergh prefers.

What to do: A must-watch for Damon's outstanding performance and a really tight script that captures you with its wit and humour.
