The Sound of Music: It is an integral part of my childhood and was screened at school. I remember we would sing Do-Re-Mi and A Few Of My Favourite Things and pretend to be one of the film's Von Trapp siblings. I could easily identify with the mischief, the strictness of a father, the love of a mother, and young adults falling in love.
The Apu Trilogy: I'm a true- blood Bengali fed on Bengali classics be it books or cinema. I have the greatest respect and admiration for Satyajit Ray and his films that are often described as 'coming of age'. The trilogy captures the journey of Apu from childhood to adulthood is truly representative of world class cinema. Pather Panchali remains my favourite amongst the three, the other two being Aparajito and Apur Sansar.u00a0
Guide: I remember gushing over the handsome Dev Saab and the stunning Waheeda Rehman. Their chemistry, the madness, the music that this film portrayed, allured me.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: I was a teenager when I watched this film. The backdrop of Europe, the romance of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, the fight sequences, the Punjabi-desi tadka worked wonders on my imagination and made me feel like falling in love! I had perfected the dialogues and songs so well of this song.
One Fine Day: George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer were adorable in the film. I remember buying the DVD and watching it over and over again. Everything about it was super cute. I especially loved the children Sammy and Maggie who help the single parents fall in love. What I still remember are the film's songs!
