"Intolerance is there in the country for sure. Everyone is feeling that. We all are trying to do our bit be it by returning the awards or by other means. But we should not make it an issue," Pathak said.
The 54-year-old theatre and film actress said not much has changed by the gesture made by writers, artists, scientists and filmmakers.
"Everything is politicised and then it goes in some other direction. Now everyone is talking about it, but people have forgotten the main crux. One person returned the award, now everyone is doing
it.
"Are we gaining anything? Are we able to make a point that something has changed? The person, who died in Dadri, people no longer remember him, that has become unimportant."
The "Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela," star said the movement which people have started should reach a destination.
"We talk about building pressure, but no one is under pressure. The government is not even looking at the matter.
They are just interested in Bihar now," she said.
"The movement started by people should reach a culmination," she added.
