Though its release is still a week away, a special screening of Pad Man will be held at the Oxford Union today. Producer Twinkle Khanna will also address the students of the English university. She's keen the world know about entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad-making machine, on whom the film is based.
She will also delve into issues relating to menstrual hygiene, tackling taboos and breaking down the stigma attached to menstruation as a means to empower girls and women worldwide. Pad Man is also the first Indian film to be showcased at The Oxford Union.
