Positive word of mouth is helping Diljit Dosanjh's Soorma increase its box office collection, as the film minted Rs 2 crore on day 4, thus taking its grand total to Rs 15 crore

Soorma – a biopic based on the life of former Indian hockey team, Sandeep Singh, essayed by Diljit Dosanjh, hit the 70 mm on Friday, July 13. The film is doing decent business at the box office, and has got likewise reviews from the critics, too. On day 1, the film minted Rs. 3.25 crore and saw an upward trend on day 2, thus taking its collection to Rs. 5.05 crore. Owing to the positive word of mouth, Soorma earned Rs. 5.60 crore on Sunday, day 3, and despite heavy rainfall and World Cup Finale of Football, the film took its weekend grand total to Rs. 13.90 crore at the box office.

On Monday, day 4, Diljit and Taapsee Pannu starrer minted Rs. 2 crore. The total collection of the film till date stands at Rs. 15 crore.
After being certified as 'U', Soorma is witnessing footfalls by kids and family in larger numbers at the theatres. As the film is a universal film, it is been cleared by the Pakistani censor board and Kuwait censor board too. Soorma is an inspiring true story about a player, who made headlines for his miraculous comeback after an unfortunate accident.
It is a lesser known fact that, Sandeep Singh has been hailed as one of the world's most dangerous drag-flickers of all time with drag speeds of over 145 km/hr which led to his nickname, 'Flicker Singh'.
Apart from Diljit and Taapsee, the biopic also has Angad Bedi in a pivotal role. Produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh, and Deepak Singh, Soorma is written and directed by Shaad Ali.
