The upcoming schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama, 'Padmavati', will bring co-stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor together for the first time on set. Reports of the duo's apparent animosity did the rounds earlier, with rumours suggesting that Singh was miffed about Kapoor's extended scenes that could steal his thunder.
A unit hand tells mid-day, "Sanjay sir planned the shoot in such a way that individual scenes of all actors were shot first. These will be followed by portions that see them together. Although Deepika [Padukone, co-star] who plays Rani Padmavati, and Shahid, as her husband Raja Ratan Singh, have shot together before, Ranveer has shot solo scenes until now."
Bhansali's 'Padmavati' is a dramatised version of the historical account of the love Turkish ruler Khilji harboured for the queen of Mewar. Although Sanjay Leela Bhansali hasn't zeroed in on the precise plan for Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor's first scene, he intends to start with the war of words that ensues between the characters as they meet for the first time.
"There is latent animosity running through the scene. Before Ranveer injured himself while shooting last week, the scene was discussed with him," says the source, adding that the actors will discuss the part after Singh returns from his brief London holiday.

"A scene like this banks on the actors' equation, and Shahid and Ranveer share a good one. As performers, they are different. Having them come face to face on set will be a delight to watch," the source says.
Quelling rumours of enmity, Shahid Kapoor, in an earlier interview to mid-day, had said, "I want to work with every fantastic actor in town. Ranveer and I will be a house of fire in this film."
