Sara Ali Khan turned a year older on Sunday. The actor had a gluten and sugar-free birthday cake. She made merry at a suburban nightspot with mum Amrita Singh, brother Ibrahim and pals. Dad Saif Ali Khan was conspicuous by his absence. Bhumi Pednekar, Kanika Kapoor among others also attended the party.

Saif and Amrita's daughter Sara will soon be making her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Kedarnath is an eternal love story set in the backdrop of the flash floods that wrecked the temple town in the June of 2013. It is a potent combination of love and religion, passion and spirituality. The floods that took the lives of over a hundred thousand people is a powerful backdrop for this epic love story.

Sara has already begun shooting for her second film, Rohit Shetty directed Simmba with Ranveer Singh in lead. Simmba will see Ranveer Singh play a rowdy police inspector, whereas Sara Ali Khan's character will be the reason behind his transformation from an unscrupulous cop to one with morals.
