The family of a 62-year-old Malabar Hill resident, who passed away after succumbing to a terminal illness, were in for a shock after discovering that she had willed all her money to Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt. Dutt, who is currently filming for Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, was said to be shocked and overwhelmed by such a gesture and has requested the authorities at Bank of Baroda's Walkeshwar branch, where the deceased holds an account, to hand over the money to her family members.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Sanjay Dutt was informed by the police through a phone call on January 29, that the late fan had bequeathed all the money from her account and her bank locker to him, before her death a fortnight earlier. The cops felt he needed to be notified as they were under the impression that she might have been a huge fan and admirer of his work.
The woman had submitted a detailed letter and nomination form to the bank a few months before her passing, which clearly mentioned Sanjay Dutt as the nominee along with his Pali Hill address. Dutt's lawyer Subhash Jadhav has reiterated the actor's wishes that the deceased's belongings and valuables be transferred back to her family members as per due legal proceedings.
Sanjay Dutt made his Bollywood comeback last year with Bhoomi, which also starred Aditi Rao Hydari, who played his on-screen daughter. Actor Ranbir Kapoor is set to essay him in an upcoming biopic, which will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
