Choreographer- director Remo D'Souza wasn't always one for dancing. Sports was his first love."Dance was something I stumbled upon, but sports was a part of my life since early childhood," says Remo, who studied in Air Force School, Jamnagar, Gujarat. He talks to CS about his khiladi days:
Racquet days
At 12, I developed a love for badminton, which I played for many years. I was better at sports that required footwork, so badminton was perfect for me. I was once crowned the state champion.

Ball boy
After playing badminton for two years, I shifted to basketball. I enjoyed watching the sport, and decided to learn it. While playing basket ball, I discovered that it was similar to dance in some ways. If you forgot the ball in basket ball, you end up doing a sort of dance (laughs). Even today, I play basketball to keep myself fit.u00a0
Bowled out!
Unlike other kids, I wasn't mad about cricket. But one day, I saw a group of boys playing cricket and joined in. They told me that I was good at fast bowling and took me in their team. In my first interschool level cricket match, I won the Man of the Match Award. That's when I discovered the cricketer in me.
For the kicks
Like most kids, I was a huge Jackie Chan fan. I saw Shaolin films whenever I got a chance. Slowly, I felt the need to learn Karate. Then, I learnt the art from the Japan Karate Association, and earned myself a brown belt.
Dips and diktats
Though I didn't enjoy swimming, we had to compulsorily learn it in school. I hated it then, but now I'm grateful for the swimming lessons, as it keeps me in good shape.u00a0
