Amid speculation of a birthday-cum-housewarming party at his new Pali Hill pad, Ranbir Kapoor turned 34 in a rather low-key fashion. In between shooting for his maiden co-production, 'Jagga Jasoos', and promoting his next release, 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', Ranbir had little time to have fun. However, that didn't stop his buddies Aditya Roy Kapur and Arjun Kapoor from making it memorable for him.

The paparazzi spotted the trio chilling in Juhu, after which they made dash to sets of 'Jagga Jasoos' in Film City where director Anurag Basu and his crew had organised an elaborate bash. Music composer Pritam, who was out of town on work, flew down especially for RK. Arjun, who was shooting for 'Half Girlfriend' in Andheri, also took time off to be there.

The football-shaped cake was the biggest attraction for the Barcelona fan. Co-star and ex-flame Katrina Kaif was shooting for a brand endorsement in another part of the city. The bonhomie was cut short by Basu's work call last morning and Ranbir reported to set on time. The Kapoor khandaan hosted a big bash for RK and his aunt Rima Jain, who shares her birthday with the actor, at a SoBo hotel.

Since the actor is not on social media, his mum, Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram, to thank fans on his behalf. Papa Rishi Kapoor, in his trademark humorous style, tweeted, "I am happy to accept this time all your greetings, blessings, love and hate for Ranbir, as he is not on any social. Validity 2400 hrs IST (sic)."
Last year, the actor had celebrated his birthday in London with the Ae Dil crew with Katrina specially flying in for the celebration. ''Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'' director Karan Johar, who had taken off to Lisbon to meet buddy Shah Rukh Khan in the wake of MNS' protests against his film starring Pakistani hottie Fawad Khan, returned to the city yesterday afternoon, apparently to make merry with RK. Third song of 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', Channa Mere Ya, which happens to be Ranbir's favourite, will be unveiled today. Rendered by Arijit Singh and composed by Pritam, the song shows him in the dulha avatar for the first time on screen.
