The 66-year-old actress has worked in movies like 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayeinge', 'Pukar' and 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai'. Her last known role on the big screen was in 'Student of the Year' (2012).
Asked why she was not seen more in films today, Farida told reporters, "You have seen the feature films these days? Have you seen any role that I could've done? There are no roles for me, where are the characters which I can do... We're done, finished."
The actress was speaking at the launch of Y-Films' 'Love Shots'. The film features six short movies, and Farida stars opposite actor Kulbhushan Kharbanda in one of them, titled 'Scandal Point'.
Farida considers doing short films a "major step" and feels proud to be part of the digital era.
"This is such a major step in my journey, that I am sitting in front of you, in this era. It's a very proud moment for me, I don't want to say much, I just want to absorb. I am four decades old (in the industry) so today to be part of this, it is a very happy moment for me."
The actress said she enjoyed doing the short film despite it being an unknown territory for her. "(Short films) are excellent, superb. I can't imagine something like this, the music, the emotions... I enjoyed it, it is something new."
Directed by Ankur Tewari, 'Love Shots' also stars Nimrat Kaur, Saqib Saleem, Shweta Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Salim Merchant and Tillotama Shome among others.
