Hidden on the busy Peddar Road is Madison, a gem of a boutique that promises to solve dressing woes of women in Mumbai

Not even a month old, Madison owned by Trishna Bajaj has garnered sufficient buzz among the city’s stylists and fashion bloggers. This tastefully done up, tiny store houses high-street apparel and jewellery which have a designer feel to it, yet is easy on the pocket.

Bajaj, who has lived in New York, found that Mumbai had a dearth of boutiques. With her mother being a fashion designer and father owning a textile business, opening a fashion boutique seemed logical for Bajaj. Her aim is to provide chic western outfits at a reasonable price.

New York-inspired, Madison lacks in space but makes up for it with its stunning collection of trendy clothes and accessories. The store has racks neatly divided into skirts, tops, dresses, jumpsuits and gowns. The price ranges from '3,000 for a crop top to '9,000 for a maxi dress. The collection changes every two weeks, which adds exclusivity to the items. So, you don’t have to worry about getting caught in the same dress as your friend at a party.

Currently, the collection is dominated by mesh T-shirts, lacy jumpsuits, leather cutout crop tops, printed shift dresses and sporty luxe wear. The jewellery varies from quirky rings to costume necklace and lots of pearls.
