during the Bollywood awards season, singer Neha Bhasin bagged several honours for the Jag Ghoomeya song from Sultan (2016). "I always thought awards don't recognise talent, but I was proven wrong. Awards are encouraging. They validate the hard work I have put in," she says.
Apart from Bollywood, Neha is also active on the independent music scene. She recently released a single, Shudai, a heartbreak song, "I find Valentine's Day cliché because love can be celebrated every day. But I thought it would be interesting to release a track about people who dared to love without worrying about whether it would be successful," she explains.
Neha collaborated with UK-based rapper Raxstar for the hip-hop track. She confesses that she prefers tragedy to romance. "It's far more inspiring than mushy love. It's ironic that I wrote this single when I was happily in love.
I like singing tragic songs," she smiles. Neha tied the knot with her music composer-beau Sameer Uddin in Italy last November. "Not many know that Sameer also won an award for the Best Background Score for Kapoor & Sons (2016). But we haven't yet found the time to celebrate."
