Actor Minissha Lamba is not one for lavish birthday celebrations. But this petite lady, who celebrates her birthday today, dreams of celebrating a romantic birthday some day. "I definitely fantasise about it, a nice candlelight dinner with my beloved on the beach.
But I am yet to find the man in my life. So, I have a lot of look forward to in life," says Minissha looking gorgeous in a printed summer dress. Minissha talks to CS on this special day:
The works.....
Well, I will be shooting today. I don't regret it at all because I feel one should do life's most important things on this special day.
But I will be throwing a pool party for my friends/family on the weekend. It will be a lazy brunch filled with food, music and fun.
I thought a pool party would be nice as the weather is getting a little hotter. My friends can come casually dressed in beach wear and simply have a blast.u00a0 In fact, last year I was all alone on my birthday shooting at an outdoor locale.
No one on the sets knew it was my birthday and the day simply passed by. This year I plan to make up for that with a bit of a celebration.
A reversal of sorts
As kids, my brother and I had the coolest birthday parties. My parents treated our birthdays as big occasions and planned them to the last detail. But as I grew older I became quite shy of the fuss that was made about my birthday.
When I turned 12 I told my parents to stop having a party for me. I loved the cakes my parents ordered. One year, I had a huge Barbie cake and a Minnie Mouse on another. I love chocolate-flavoured cakes, especially ones with Belgian chocolate.
As a child, I enjoyed getting toys and games as gifts, and detested people who gifted me books and clothes. Now, it's the exact opposite. I love receiving clothes as gifts. As a kid, I loved all the attention on my birthday, and now I hate it. It's a funny reversal of sorts.

On my wish-list
In the coming year, I would love to go skydiving and get that ultimate rush of adrenaline. I would also like to go to a nice music concert in Europe, as well as complete my second level course in scuba diving. And I would like to make truckloads of money, that's very important.
Last but not the least, become thinner and stay thinner. On the whole, I am quite thankful to God for the life he has given me. Looking back, I wish I had listened more to my parents as a kid/adolescent. But I am very grateful to the Almighty that he has always kept me grounded. That's a huge gift.
