Lucky is playing the role of a psychiatrist in the Prawaal Raman-directed thriller, which also stars Richa Chadha, Adil Hussain and Tisca Chopra.

Hooda will be seen essaying the role of serial killer, Charles Sobhraj, in the film.

"It was fascinating to work with Randeep. On the first day, I met him on the set as Charles. He was in his character and I was playing a psychiatrist. That set the tone as we both were playing our characters and not meeting each other as Randeep or Lucky," the actress told PTI.

Lucky has done extensive theatre but as her debut film happened by chance, it gave her no time to do research for her role.

"I was talking to the producer of the film Vikram (Khakhar) and suddenly during the friendly chat he insisted me to be a part of the film. It was not planned at all. I was on board.

"I didn't have time to do any research. I said yes and the next day I was on set, with no bound script and dialogues.

But the director explained me my role and I was all set."

Lucky, who is the sister-in-law of film producer Karim Morani, also designed the look of her character, Dr Ashima.

Hailing from a film family, Lucky did not have any apprehension facing the camera but was left happy when her co-star Adil Hussain praised her first shot.

"I come from a film family. I practically grew up on film sets, watching Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan ji perform. So there was no apprehension coming on screen. I was not scared at all.

"When I did my first shot with Adil, he asked the producers if I had done 17-18 films before this. He was surprised to know that this is my debut. He said my confidence is amazing and that made me really happy".

She is now looking forward to doing more movies as "Main Aur Charles" has "opened up doors" for her.

"I have no do's and dont's. I just want to be a part of meaningful cinema, even if it's not a full length role. It should have an impact. This film has opened up doors for me and I would certainly love to be a part of more movies."

"Main Aur Charles" releases this Friday.
