Actor cancels shoot; grieves the passing of his pooch


Imran Khan is grieving. The actor lost his dog yesterday.u00a0 The actor adopted Tony, the Labrador, four years ago, after he was abandoned by his owner.u00a0

The canine died of food poisoning. His sudden death came as a shock to the actor. IK has two more Labradors.

Khan loves animals, and besides dogs, also has cats at his Pali Hill bungalow. He is very attached to all his pets. He'd constantly call from his shooting outdoors, to check on his four-legged-babies.

He was especially attached to Tony, as it was traumatized after being thrown out on the streets by its previous owner.

Critical condition

A source reveals, "Tony was young and healthy. He got sick after his walk on Carter Road two days ago. It didn't trigger off any alarm bells till he started vomiting.

Imran was shooting for Short Term Shaadi, when he got the news of Tony's condition being critical. He requested Karan to give him a half-day leave and rushed home to be with his pet."

The next morning, the pet was cremated at the SPCA, Parel. Says a source close to the family, "The entire family adored Tony, and all the pets got along beautifully.

Everybody is missing him terribly. In fact, all the other pets too are affected byu00a0 Tony's absence and are all quiet and listless."
